Keep the general level low and let narrow beams carry the display. Contrast is what pulls the eye.
Beam angle follows the display
Narrow beams for small objects and depth; wider beams for garment walls and mid-floor.
Colour rendering matters
CRI 90+ keeps fabric and skin tones honest. Worth specifying, not worth compromising on.
Re-aiming between seasons
Layouts change. Track lets the light move with the floor plan instead of being re-installed.
Control glare at the fitting
Deep-recessed optics and correct aiming angle matter more than the lamp choice.
Group the switching
Window, mid-floor and highlight zones rarely want the same level at the same time.
Which system suits this space
Most retail floors need grouped control, which points to a multi-circuit system. Smaller single-zone shops can use a simpler structure.
